Forum: prelinger Subject: Urgent/Possibly Stupid Question Re: ReUse

Hi, forgive me if this question is dumb, but I am still unclear after reading much of the terms & conditions to the site..

Am I able to reproduce Prelinger archive footage for a student short assignment?

Obviously I am a student and am hoping to use for noncommercial use only.

any info or answers would be appreciated,

On each film's page there is "Creative Commons license:" statement. If it says "Public Domain" (most films in the Prelinger Archive) then you are free to use for any purpose whatsoever. Check out http://creativecommons.org/ for information about restrictions on other Creative Commons licenses. In short, for a student project, you can probably use anything from the Archive with no problem, but you should always credit the source.
